Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil

Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil

The jojoba "oil" is actually more of a liquid wax that is extracted by cold-pressing the seeds of the Simmondsia chinensisshrub. This shrub grows in the Sonoran Desert, northern Mexico and the desert areas of Arizona and California.

For hundreds of years it was used by the Aztecs, who attributed magical properties to it.

Jojoba oil has a very similar chemical composition to the ceramides of our skin. The ceramides of jojoba oil encase the cells of the epidermis, regulating its hydration.

Jojoba oil is suitable for both dry and greasy skin, as it regulates and balances out the sebaceous level. It is effective in treating whiteheads, pimples, blackheads, seborrhea, irritations and rashes.

It acts against ageing, facilitating cell regeneration. This allows the skin to gain elasticity, softness and firmness. Its composition also includes Vitamin E, which eliminates free radicals, atoms responsible for premature ageing of the skin. Another component is linoleic acid, which acts by regenerating skin cells.

In short, the properties of jojoba oil for the skin are:

  • Effective sebaceous regulator that combats acne
  • Rich moisturising agent
  • Helps prevent wrinkles and restore tissues
  • Anti-ageing
  • Provides softness, flexibility and smoothness
  • Anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal
  • Healing
  • Effective on burns, psoriasis and eczema.
