Pelargonium graveolens is a rare species in the Pelargonium genus, a shrub native to South Africa, Zimbabwe and Mozambique that can grow to 1.2 metres. Its essential oil is extracted by distilling its pink flowers.
It has the property of balancing the skin, which stabilises the production of sebaceous material and makes it very useful in the treatment of acne. Also, thanks to its regulatory capacity, it helps balance out dry skin.
It is also greatly tightens and firms tissue.
It is well-known for stimulating cell regeneration, thus helping the healing process.
Another of its qualities is that it helps to stimulate the lymphatic system, a property which enables it to combat orange-peel skin in anti-cellulite treatments.
