Gotu Kola Extract

Centella Asiatica (Gotu Kola) is a small herbaceous plant native to India, but it also grows in Sri Lanka and Madagascar. It is used as a medicinal herb in Ayurvedic medicine and traditional Chinese medicine.

An interesting fact about this herb is that a renowned Chinese herbalist called LiChing Yun supposedly lived for 256 years because he regularly used a plant mixture predominantly composed of Centella Asiatica.

Its main active ingredient is a triterpene known as asiaticoside which gives it most of its properties, which include stimulating the formation of fibroblasts (cells necessary to repair damaged tissues) and regulating the absorption of collagen into the skin.

It is also astringent, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, healing, soothing and it protects the skin. All this makes Centella Asiatica very effective in protecting, repairing and firming tissues.

Additionally, Gotu Kola is an excellent reactivator of blood circulation, hence its excellent properties in anti-cellulite and cellulite-reducing treatments, as well as for tired legs and varicose veins.
