Foeniculum Vulgare Oil

Foeniculum vulgare (sweet fennel) is a plant growing to about 60 cm that is native to southern Europe, especially the Mediterranean region. By steam-distilling its seeds, we obtain the essential oil, which has a characteristic aniseed aroma.

The properties of essential oil Foeniculum vulgare were already known in ancient times, being used by Egyptians, Chinese, Greeks and Romans for eye treatments.

For many years it has been used as an “elixir of youth”, as it helps tone tissues, giving them elasticity, and strengthens them, delaying the degenerative effects of ageing.

Its rich composition of methyl-ether-phenols, monoterpenes, monoterperenoids and monoterpene ketones give it detoxifying, draining, antioxidant and firming properties. This makes it especially useful for care of the eye area, reducing puffiness and dark circles. Similarly, due to its diuretic power, it is useful for treating cellulite.
